Design Tooling at ScaleDropbox's Design Systems team decided to transition the entire product design team from Sketch to Figma to enable more collaborative and streamlined design processes. Rather than force the switch, they empowered designers by making the benefits of Figma apparent and the transition process painless. They migrated all their design assets to Figma, held Figma training sessions, and set up Figma office hours. Within a quarter, the entire product design team had switched to Figma. Structuring their design system libraries in Figma to cascade changes across platforms and surfaces was a significant task, but they believe it will make their documentation more fresh and extensible going forward.
